Taking place in the heart of the Borneo jungle at the base of Mount Santubong in the Sarawak Cultural Village - a dazzling location. An annual three-day event celebrating world music, from world-class international artists to indigenous musicians from the island of Borneo thumping tribal beats deep into the night. Alongside musical performances, there are workshops, jamming sessions, and mini-concerts. Expect no dull moments. No wonder it’s ranked as the 185th best festival in the world by Festival 250!

2018 Line-up Highlights: Lorde, SZA, alt-J, ODESZA, and The Neighbourhood
Location: Genting Highlands, Malaysia
Attendance: 10,000+
The Genting Highlands or as some would say the city of entertainment, a breezy resort-town situated atop Mount Ulu Kali at 1,800 meters high. Featuring a line-up that is not only competitive with other Malaysian festivals but the majority of South East Asia. The line-up isn’t the only reason to attend, neither are the region’s scenic green hills, they also organise fun activities and artistic installations. The festival most certainly lives up to the hype of its name.

Three-days, two-nights of rhythm and nature on a Malaysian island which is yet to be announced. Unfortunately, the 2018 edition had to be called off at the very last minute but don’t you worry, it’ll be back bigger and better this year. Island Music Festival has an array of day time and night time activies whether its jungle trekking, snorkeling, beach yoga, crafting cocktails, beach football, and volleyball allowing it’s festivalgoers to bond with friends old and new. Ticket packages include transportation to the island, accommodation, and breakfast.

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Malaysia’s longest-running creative arts festival is heading into its 17th year and it’s forever changing, originally starting out as a weekend escape for Malaysian’s has now turned into three weekends across multiple venues. You can never have too much of a good thing. Urbanscapes allows it’s attendees to forget about their hectic city lives and use their minds to let their imaginations run free, explore art, theatre, and most importantly an eclectic mix of music. Previous years have seen indie rock band Tame Impala, drum and bass band Rudimental and the very talented Khalid.
